Morse 35, Patrick Henry14
It was the final game of the 2014 season for both the Patrick Henry Patriots and the Morse Tigers as Morse traveled to Del Cerro and defeated Patrick Henry 35-14. Morse finishes the season with a 4-6 win/loss record and Patrick Henry finishes at 5-5. Morse will be the 11 seed for the Division III playoffs while Patrick Henry will be the 12 seed.
The Tigers struggled with turnovers throughout the first half of the game fumbling 3 times but they were still too much for the Patriots to overcome.
On offense Morse relied on their Mr. Do-Everything K.B. Barbee-Jackson. Jackson-BarbeeJ had over 130 yards rushing and a touchdown in the first quarter alone. Jackson-Barbee would later score two more rushing touchdowns and throw for another to My’Kel Wright.
On defense the Tigers were an impenetrable force. Patrick Henry quarterback Cruz Samaneigo was sacked 4 times in the first half and was picked off twice during that time span. Desi Dixon intercepted a Samaneigo pass late in the second quarter for a touchdown.
The Patriots scored both of their touchdowns through the air and were able to bring the game to a 7-point differential early in the third quarter but that was as close as they would get.
