42 Morse, 0 San Diego

In front of a packed homecoming crowd the San Diego Cavers (1-6) lost to the Morse Tigers (2-5) 42-0 Friday night.  Morse has won 2 of their last 3 and suffered a heart breaking loss in the only game they lost during that stretch.

Desi Dixon had a great night for the Tigers.  He ran for a touchdown and threw for 3 touchdowns, one to KB Barbee, one to Martell Irby and another to Jaylin White.  Irby also scored a touchdown on an interception returned for a touchdown.  Not bad for a kid that was recently called up to from JV to varsity.

The Cavers had a couple of stand out players.  Daryl Givens played well at quarterback, Isiah Gilbreth had a couple of nice catch and runs off of swing passes and the defense was strong up the middle.

Morse will host Mira Mesa next week and will finish the rest of their season on the road at Patrick Henry and Serra.  

The Cavers will travel to Serra and then host Patrick Henry and Hoover.

Knengi Martin is still looking to make history by becoming the first woman to win a game as a varsity football coach in San Diego County.
