Oceanside Pirates 24, San Pasqual Golden Eagles 21
The Oceanside Pirates do it again, as they take down the San Pasqual Golden Eagles 24-21.
This win improves the Pirates record to 3-5 and drops the Golden Eagles record to 4-4.
For Oceanside, the star of the show was their quarterback, Kyrin Beachem who rushed for 3 touchdowns and close to 100 yards.
The pivotal moment of the game was when the Pirates scored to start the third quarter on a 57-yard run from Beachem. After scoring, they forced a fumble on the kickoff, setting Beachem up for another 5-yard touchdown run, making the score 17-14 in favor of Oceanside.
San Pasqual fought back hard as they scored with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter when Westin Erdman threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Brett Sayers. However, it was not enough for the Eagles to get the victory, leading the Pirates to kneel the ball as the clock expired.
Next Friday, San Pasqual will take on the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns who took a tough loss to the Ramona Bulldogs Friday night, 49-17.
Oceanside will be playing against the very competitive La Costa Canyon Mavericks who lost in the final moments of Friday night’s game against the San Marcos Knights, 41-34.

PREVIEW: Last year, the Oceanside Pirates stormed into San Pasqual and beat the Golden Eagles 39-12. However, this year the Golden Eagles plan to fly into the Pirates’ cove in hopes of better results.
This season, the Pirates are off to a 2-5 start and are winless at home. A victory against San Pasqual’s high scoring offensive would be a huge spark to the Pirates’ season.
San Pasqual has the more impressive record of 4-3, but they are coming off a tough 37-21 loss to the Valley Center Jaguars.
Although this is a non-conference game for the two teams, the game may be a bit more important for the Golden Eagles as they hope to make a playoff push in the Valley League. They are currently tied with the Escondido Cougars and the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns in the Valley League where, Valley Center reigns on top.
You can be sure that the highlights of this game will be on the Prep Pigskin Report this Friday at 10:30 p.m. Along with this game, the PPR will be covering 32 other games from across the county.
