Week 3: San Diego Cavers 62, O’Farrell Falcons 0

The San Diego Cavers came back strong a week after a tough loss to defeat the Falcons of O’Farrell, 62-0.

The Cavers (2-1) dominated all phases of the game, jumping out to a 30-0 lead after the first quarter.

Sophomore Mo Jackson got things going for San Diego in the first quarter, recording a rushing touchdown and catching a 25-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Quinn O’Connor.

O’Farrell, their first year of having a football program, is going through some growing pains early in this season. But despite their early-season woes, they kept lining up and trying to get something going.

They brought a good crowd to cheer them on, but it wasn’t enough as San Diego, a Division IV CIF runner-up last season, was just too much.

San Diego will next travel to Montgomery as they will look to improve to 3-1.

O’Farrell will try to get their first win as a program next week when they take on Classical Academy in their home opener.

For highlights of those games and every game around the county, be sure to watch the PPR every Friday night, beginning with 1st and 15 at 10:45 p.m.

This Friday night, the San Diego Cavers will take on the O’Farrell Charter Falcons in a Week 3 contest.

The Cavers (1-1) will look to get their first win at home this season after giving up a 13-point lead last week in their home opener, eventually losing in overtime.

O’Farrell (0-2), a young program, is going through some growing pains this season.

Falcons head coach Tim Baxter knows he is fielding a young team. Painful as it may be, these are just the lumps inexperienced teams go through before growing up.

San Diego quarterback Quinn O’Conner, a senior, is hoping to lead the Cavers back to the title game this season. So far, he led San Diego to a win in Las Vegas against Spring Valley in Week 1 and fell just short of upsetting Lincoln last week.

Cavers coach Charles James, whose team did not lose a regular season game last season, will be in unfamiliar territory as they look to respond after a loss.

Kick-off is at 6:30 p.m.
