Preview: Rancho Christian vs. Army-Navy
The Eagles soared past Army and Navy in this weekend’s contest. Rancho Christian was led by unstoppable duo, quarterback Preston Diehl and running back Reggie Ireland. Rancho Christian is averaging 360 rushing yards, and tonight the Eagles’ running game was clearly a menace for the Army and Navy defensive line. Not only was the offense impressive for Rancho Christian they also have a pretty stellar defensive line. Taking advantage in all aspects of the game the Rancho Christian Eagles are headed back to Temecula with a 36-6 win over the Army and Navy Warriors making them undefeated going into week 3.
The Army and Navy Warriors posed as their own worst enemy in this week’s competition. Plagued with penalties the Warriors were forced to play behind the chains. Nevertheless, the cadets forged on until the clock hit 0, even scoring a touchdown in the last seconds of the game. The Warriors’ offense looked very strong but it just wasn’t a match for the defense of the Rancho Christian Eagles. Even though the Warriors came up short fans stuck around to congratulate players on the season opener. Army and Navy will be hosting Handsworth (North Vancouver, British Columbia) next week with chances of advancing 1-1 for the 2014 season.
