Jersey Mike’s City Game of the Week: San Diego Cavers 28, Crawford Colts 0

In the battle of Division 4 versus Division 5, the San Diego Cavers lived up to their undefeated record defeating the Crawford Colts 28-0.

San Diego scored their first touchdown on their first drive when RB Raiden Hunter scored for 18 yards. In the 2nd quarter, WR Thomas Marcus scores a 21-yard touchdown for the Cavers as they go up 14-0 at the half. Although the Colts had their comeback moments like an interception picked off by FS Malachi Batie in the 3rd quarter, it was just not enough to convert. San Diego’s defense gave Crawford some difficulties including sacks by Raiden Hunter, Daniel Loya, Chris Mantua, and Mo Jackson. San Diego took home the 28 point win and will continue to lead in the Central League.

The Cavers will continue their victory streak at 9-0, while the Colts are now 6-3. San Diego will go on to play Coronado. Crawford will face off next week against Kearny at home.

Preview: Week 10 is here and it does not get better than having two teams face off that are both leading in their division. The Crawford Colts are 6-2 and are leading the Division 5 section and the San Diego Cavers are 8-0 and leading the Division 4 section. San Diego who is undefeated are looking to keep their victory streak. While Crawford, who just broke in their new field last week, are coming off a big win against Coronado and will try to prove that they are the better team in the Central League.

Crawford is looking to move up in ranks this Friday but will have a tough assignment. The Colts offense has been doing well averaging 31.2 points per game. Senior QB Shawn Balala has thrown 972 yards for 15 touchdowns, on the receiving end of 5 of those touchdowns is Ali Musa for 460 yards this season. Niko Perry has also scored 7 touchdowns rushing for 344 yards. Crawford has had a tough schedule but have the ability to score big, like their 52-7 win over Calvary Murrieta. Also strong offensively is the San Diego Cavers averaging 39.25 points per game. Senior Thomas Marcus has a total 365 receiving yards and 10 total touchdowns on the year thus far. Also leading the offense is junior quarterback Quinn O’Connor with a total of 983 passing yards and 16 passing touchdowns. Being 8-0, it will be a tough assignment for the Crawford Colts but nevertheless, a good matchup. 

San Diego will compete against Crawford at their new home field Friday at 6:30pm.
