San Pasqual 6, Valley Center 31
Valley Center’s Defense, early scoring and time of possession kept San Pasqual from even sniffing their first possible win in 2014 as Valley Center wins easily over San Pasqual 31-6. San Pasqual had their chances on a couple of drives to get back in this game, but some key drops and second half fumbles killed drives.
Valley Center did what they had to do early and build a good lead in the first half, scoring three touchdowns in the air from QB Rhett Reilly. Reilly went 15-of-28 completions, threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns taking over the QB job from usual QB Daniel DeLeon. On the ground the Jags running attack had 132 yards total rushing, lead by RB Dalton Larabee who had 66 and a late 4th Quarter Touchdown to seal the deal for Valley Center.
Meanwhile, San Pasqual’s long season continues. Valley Center’s defense held the Golden Eagles to zero first downs until 3:23 left in the 2nd Quarter, few plays later QB Devin Stanley ran in a 5-yard Touchdown for the Golden Eagles only score of the night. The second half the Golden Eagles had some chances to keep drives going but after their last punt, the offense just ran two more plays the entire second half. Credit goes to Valley Center’s defense all the way.
Valley Center is now 3-3 on the year (1-0 in Valley) and will play a HUGE Homecoming game next Friday vs. Fallbrook (Currently First in Valley). San Pasqual will carry-on at 0-6 (0-1 in Valley) ending a long three-game road trip coming home next week to San Pasqual to face undefeated Orange Glen
