Montgomery 42, San Ysidro 7
The Montgomery Aztecs (2-6, 1-0) open Metro-Pacific League play with a win defeating the San Ysidro Cougars 42-7.
It was a magical night at Aztec Nation with the combination of Homecoming and Senior Night taking place.
Montgomery had their best game of the season scoring on their first three drives of the game.
Three seniors were a part of the first two scores, RB Charles Crawford had a 40-yard score and QB Nate Aragon found WR Alex Moore who battled his way into the endzone from the 5-yard line.
Anthony Parra got in on the action with another rushing score of 40 yards giving a nice stiff arm to break away.
San Ysidro (2-6, 0-1) then responded with 14-year-old freshman QB Franklin Forbes throwing a deep ball on the money to WR Carlos Gandarilla for a 75-yard touchdown.
There were a combined 28 points scored in the first quarter.
KUSI had to leave early to attend another game, but it was much of the same as the Aztecs scored the last 21 points of the game.
San Ysidro will play their last home game of the season as the Castle Park Trojans cruise into town Week 10.
Montgomery will look to take the momentum into Southwest Raider territory next week.
