Preview: Vista vs. Rancho Buena Vista

Friday night of the regular season will feature an Avocado- East League match up between Vista and Rancho Buena Vista.

Both teams are struggling this year and sit in 3rd and 5th place in the League. Vista is hoping they can sneak into the Division 1 playoffs. The Panthers are sitting at 4-5. They are lead by Senior quarterback Nate Johnson. Johnson was 3 of 8 for 49 yards in last week’s loss to Mission Hills. The team had a few key turnovers early that left the game out of reach. Expect to see running back Anthony Kuchinsky get some time. He had 67 yards on 14 carries in the Mission Hills game. Another name to keep an eye on could be wide receiver Ryan Lasua who averages 45.8 yards per game on offense.

Rancho Buena Vista is having a tough go in 2014. They have a record of 1-8 and would like to end the season with a win. Coach Paul Gomes only win of the season coming off a close victory over San Pasqual.

The Longhorns will be hosting the Alarm Clock Pep Rally for a 3rd straight year. Kickoff will be at 7 PM with full highlights on the Prep Pigskin Report.
