Corvette Diner Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game: Helix Highlanders 59, West Hills Wolfpack 0

The Helix Highlanders and the West Hills Wolfpack faced off in a Grossmont-Hills League matchup at Helix. Helix came into the game with a 6-1 overall record and a 2-0 record in conference play, while West Hills had a 5-2 record and a 1-1 record in conference play.

First quarter of the game, Isaac-Taylor Stuart runs back a 65-yard touchdown putting the highlanders up 7-0. West Hills had a hard time bouncing back and only made it past the Helix defense a couple of times. But, Helix never really let up.

Isaiah Wooden with the standout 92-yard punt return, and that pretty much sealed the deal for Helix.

They went on to win this one with a final of 59-0 in their homecoming game.

Helix next plays against Grossmont High School next week, while West Hills plays El Capitan.  Tune in next Friday night to the PPR at 10:30 pm for all the highlights.

Preview: The West Hills Wolfpack (5-2) take a road trip to La Mesa to take on the powerhouse Helix Highlanders (6-1) in a Grossmont-Hills League matchup Friday.  Helix is looking to extend their 5 game winning streak, while the Wolfpack are looking to get back into their winning ways after a loss to Steele Canyon last week.

West Hills, coached by Casey Ash, are having a decent season in comparison to others.  With only 2 losses, they have reason to be optimistic about the future of their team.  It is tough for anyone to face Helix, but it will be a good game nonetheless.  This is the third league game that West Hills has had, and it will continue the next couple weeks.  This means that each win or loss makes or breaks the standings and the season.

The Highlanders currently are ranked number 17 in the state and number 2 here in San Diego only behind Mission Hills.  A team flanked with top players like Isaac Taylor-Stuart, Rashad Scott, Carson Baker, and Isaiah Wooden to name a few and back by head coach Robbie Owens.  They are a fore to be reckoned with and one that will be looking to keep the streak alive.

This is going to be a good east-county battle Friday Night at 7 p.m. at Helix High School.  If you cannot make it out to the game you can catch the highlights on the PPR at 10:30 pm on KUSI.  You can also follow “redjacketarmy” on Instagram and Twitter for live game updates on Friday Night.
