Protesters gather outside the newly opened Target in Ocean Beach

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A small-format Target opened its doors last week in Ocean Beach on Newport Ave.

The new addition angered many OB residents and business owners who are worried the chain will put an end to small businesses. Others are concerned that it takes away from the unique atmosphere of OB.

A group of protesters gathered outside the retailer last week to show their opposition and voice their concerns.

Supporters of the store’s opening believe it will draw more people to OB, who will then feel encouraged to support the area’s local businesses, as well.
