Public meeting on dismantling San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The process of dismantling the old San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant just restarted after months of delays. This comes after a near miss regarding the transfer of nuclear waste from wet to dry storage.

The San Onofre Community Engagement Panel is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21 regarding the continued decommissioning of the power plant.

David Victor, Chairman of the San Onofre Community Engagement Panel and UCSD Professor, was in studio to discuss.

Public meeting:

  • Nov. 21 (5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
  • Staffed information booths open from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • QLN Conference Center
  • Open to the Public
