Rady Children’s Hospital celebrates National Grateful Patient Day

Former San Diego Chargers kicker Rolf Benirschke joined Good Morning San Diego to talk about Chargers opener and a project called National Grateful patient Day.

Seven-year-old Bryn Rathweg was diagnosed at 10 months with a brain tumor called Malignant Anaplastic Ependymoma at Rady Children’s.

She went through emergency brain surgery. Then followed that with chemotherapy and the new and emerging technology called proton therapy. She called for almost a year to finally get to say she is NED (no evidence of disease)
