Rady Children’s Hospital hosts annual Heart Party

The Heart Institute at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is celebrating American Heart Month by hosting the 34th annual Heart Party on Sat. Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

More than 250 current and former heart patients, including some who have been heart transplant recipients, will participate in the event and share their inspiring stories.

The event reunites patients and their families with doctors, nurses and the heart transplant team.

The party, which includes games and entertainment in a carnival-like setting, will take place in the parking lot of the Education Office Building at 7960 Birmingham Drive.

In 2017, doctors performed more than 500 heart operations, including several heart transplants.

The cardiology program provides comprehensive cardiac services and state-of-the-art specialized care for infants, children and adolescents. In 2017, U.S News & World Report ranked the cardiology and cardiovascular program No. 17 among children’s hospitals nationwide.
