Rain and alcohol a factor in National City rollover

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — A man suspected of drinking and driving was trapped in his car Thursday night after it overturned on the Interstate 5, according to police.

The rain on the Interstate 5 northbound in National City contributed to accident but police say alcohol was also a factor. The man lost control of the car and spun out. The car went up an embankment and flipped leaving the man trapped inside, police said.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to remove the man from the vehicle. The man is expected to be okay but was arrested by police on suspicion of driving under the influence.
