Rain and possible thunderstorms hit San Diego on Tuesday

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A weak high pressure system brought rain and the possibility of thunderstorms throughout San Diego on Tuesday.

The showers brought by the easterly wave could carry a slight chance of rain into tonight, according to the weather service.

Cloudy conditions in the mountains were expected to bring a 50 percent chance of precipitation, while the deserts and coastal areas could see 40 percent and 30 percent chance of rain, respectively.

As the rain and thunderstorms subside, the building high pressure could usher in warmer weather Thursday through Saturday and could potentially get close to breaking heat records.
