Ramona 44, Poway 0

The Ramona Bulldogs rode steamrolling performances on both sides of the ball to a 44-0 win over Poway.

Damon Baldwin’s squad did most of their offensive damage on the ground. Garrett Binkley opened the scoring, with a 26-yard scamper around the left end for a touchdown.

Brandon Gansch punched in the next Bulldog score, this one from nine yards out. And he tacked on two more in the second quarter — from 67 and 22 yards out, respectively — as Ramona took a 31-0 lead into the half.

Gansch turned 19 total carries into 174 yards and four touchdowns, and added 47 yards through the air.

Marco Cobian had an efficient night for the Bulldogs, and connected with Christian Dominguez on a 51-yard bomb to push the score to 37-0 in the third quarter.

The Ramona defense left no room for Poway to operate, stuffing every lane that the ground-centric Titan offense tried to pry open.

Binkley pulled a double shift for the Bulldogs, following up his touchdown run with an interception of Poway’s Conor Boyle, on one of the few passes the Titan quarterback attempted.

Next week, both teams continue Palmoar League play. Poway travels to Westview, while Ramona heads to Rancho Bernardo.
