Re-Open San Diego’s Freedom Market supports vendors struggling amid pandemic

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Re-Open San Diego leaders hosted a ‘Freedom Market’ at the Encore Event Center in Kearny Mesa to support vendors who are struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Anyone was welcome to attend, support local vendors, and have some fun.

The local small businesses partnered with the Re-Open San Diego movement to participate in the event where attendees could eat, shop and celebrate their freedom.

Organizers said their also looking to gather support for the effort to Recall Gavin Newsom, as well as Supervisor Nathan Fletcher, who has been in support of keeping San Diego County locked down since the pandemic began.

Aly Hartmann told KUSI News, “they are helping small businesses make some cash,” and were “just having a good time.”

Assemblyman Kevin Kiley also made an appearance at the Freedom Market.
