Record breaking temperatures hit San Diego
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Blistering temperatures in San Diego are expected to set records Saturday.
Chula Vista recorded a high reading of 91 degrees on Friday, four degrees warmer than it was a year ago according to the National Weather Service.
Escondido and San Diego hit 89 degrees, two degrees higher than recorded in the past two years.
Building high pressures are expected to bring even warmer conditions Saturday.
Highs of 84 to 89 degrees were forecast today for areas along the coast, 89 to 94 degrees inland and in the western valleys, 81 to 86 degrees near the foothills, 71 to 79 in the mountains and 87 to 92 degrees in the deserts.
Many San Diegans have taken to the beach and are keeping lifeguards busy.
