Region aims to increase affordable housing and transportation funding
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Local affordable housing, climate action and mobility activists gathered at a construction site today to highlight an issue they say the entire region needs to address: getting our fair share of state grant money to fund affordable housing and transportation.
The issue was highlighted at an affordable housing construction site in Southcrest. The apartment complex is being funded with money from the state’s Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program.
Not only is the San Diego Region not getting it’s fair share of such funds, say the activists, who were joined by County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher, the blame falls collectively on the region’s cities, along with the County.
