Rep. Duncan Hunter on potential government shutdown

Late Thursday night, Republicans in the House of Representatives passed a short term funding bill that could fund the government until February 16th, 2018. Now, the Senate needs 60 votes on the proposed bill to avoid a government shutdown. Republicans have a 51-49 majority in the Senate, some democrat votes are needed to avoid the shutdown. Senate Democrats are holding out until they get a deal for the “Dreamers” included in the bill. Critics say the Democrats are putting interests of people in the country illegally ahead of American citizens.
