Reports of gunman force freeway closures
Reports of a man wielding a gun caused a major backup on two local freeways Sunday night.
Police say they received calls about an armed man in a camouflage suit on the freeway around 7PM. The incident forced the closure of parts of the I5 North and I8 East for about half an hour.
Police believe the man may have been a transient, and his weapon, a spear, used to pick up trash. They eventually called off the search and reopened the freeways.
