Republican Councilmember Scott Sherman running for mayor of San Diego

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – After weeks of speculation, two-term City Councilman and small businessman Scott Sherman filed as a candidate for San Diego Mayor.

Sherman becomes the only GOP candidate in the race to replace Mayor Kevin Faulconer in the 2020 election.

Sherman says he will bring a conservative voice to the mayor’s race and offer different kinds of solutions to the city’s homelessness and housing crisis than the leading Democratic candidates.

District 7 Councilman, and candidate for mayor, Scott Sherman was in studio to talk about his candidacy.
