Residents push back against affordable housing plans at Famosa Canyon

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Famosa Canyon, a five-acre bowl in Point Loma is where the Housing Authority plans to build affordable housing.

They want to use the space to build 78 low-income apartments, but residents are not happy.

The area is beneath power lines from a nearby SDG&E substation and is environmentally sensitive, draining into the Famosa Slough preserve.
