Rancho Bernardo residents tied up during armed robbery

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Three men, including one wielding a gun, broke into a Rancho Bernardo-area home early Friday morning while the couple who lives there was inside.

No one was injured during the break-in in the 11000 block of Aliento Court near Cabela Drive at approximately 3:45 a.m., but the residents were tied up with shoe laces, according to San Diego police. The suspects got away with cash and jewelry.

San Diego police Lt. Kevin Mayer told reporters the victims eventually broke free and were able to call for help from a neighbor’s house.

Police said the suspects were wearing black clothing, masks and lights on their heads.
