Rick Willis Horses around with American Pharoah

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Triple Crown winner "American Pharoah" is horse racing royalty but by the way he acts you wouldn't know it.

The three year old bay colt will be spending his summer at the Del Mar Racetrack, getting ready for his next race the Haskell Invitational in New Jersey on August 2nd.  Pharoah, who had both his only loss and 1st win at Del Mar in 2015 has to be considered one of the first Triple Crown Winners in history.

Owner Ahmed Zayet and Traner Bob Baffert, will decide the horses future after the Haskell Invitational, but it looks like it is a long shot that the $1,000,000 Pacific Classic is in it. The mile and a quarter grade one race is just 20 days after the Haskell, and the eyes of Pharoah and his team will be on the "Breeder's Cup Classic" in October at the Keeneland Racetrack in Kentucky.

That doesn't mean that you can't go and see Pharoah run at Del Mar.  He will be jogging everyday at 7:45 AM on the Del Mar Track, he will also have three timed work outs prior to his next race.

One last fun fact about Pharaoh, he loves carrots! But only baby carrots. He refuses to eat carrots with the skin on them.
