Road closures for South Bay drivers

SAN DIEGO – South Bay motorists should expect sporadic lane and ramp closures in both directions Monday night and Tuesday night on Interstate 805 (I-805) between East Plaza Boulevard and State Route 54 (SR-54).

The closures are needed for temporary concrete safety barrier installation.

The closures are from 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Affected ramps include the southbound on-ramp at 43rd Street, the northbound and southbound on- and off-ramps at East Plaza Boulevard, the northbound on-ramp at Sweetwater Road, and the SR-54 eastbound and westbound connector ramps to northbound I-805.

The work is part of the first phase of the I-805 South Express Lanes Project, a $1.1 billion effort to create a modern, new transportation backbone that will meet the future needs of travelers in the region.
