San Diego Bay Parade of Lights dedicated to Anthony DeWeese
The 39th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights will be held on December 12th and 19th. This years holiday celebration is dedicated to the memory of Anthony DeWeese, the 8-year-old boy who lost his life in a fatal boating accident during last year's parade.
The 8-year-old Rancho Penasquitos boy was killed during the event last December when his family's boat was hit by a Coast Guard patrol vessel. Anthony died from blunt-force wounds and five others on the DeWeese boat suffered significant injuries.
In Anthony's memory, this years parade will also be a fundraiser for Rady Children's Hospital and a boat during the December 19th parade will be lit with red lights in Anthony's honor.
If you would like to make a donation you can send a check to Rady Children's Hospital In Celebration of Anthony DeWeese at 3020 Children's Way, San Diego, Ca 92123. You can also text “Rady” to 8-5-9-4-4 to donate $5.00.
