San Diego Blood Bank needs blood donations during the holidays

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – During the end-of-year holiday season, the local blood supply is at risk of dropping to critically low levels. Many regular blood donors may be traveling or have busy schedules. This, in tandem with cold and flu season, contributes to a depleted supply.

As part of their Season of Giving, San Diego Blood Bank is offering a free, limited edition T-shirt featuring Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat to anyone who donates blood at one of their six donor centers or various mobile drives. The offer goes from Saturday, Dec. 14, to Jan. 4, while supplies last.

Michele Corbett, VP/Marketing of San Diego Blood Bank, was in studio to talk bout it.

Donating blood is convenient with locations across Southern California. Locate a donor center or blood drive near you: https://www.mysdbb.org/#/ScheduleAppointment
