San Diego chapter of ThinkFirst, a program sponsored by Sharp Rehab

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A speaker for the San Diego chapter of ThinkFirst, a program sponsored by Sharp Rehab, stopped by Good Morning San Diego.

DeShjon Mitchell became paralyzed before his senior year of high school after a car crash. He was not wearing a seat belt. At the Sharp Allison de Rose Rehabilitation Center, he began refocusing on his life and found new meaning in helping others, according to Sharp.

Mitchell goes into the community and speaks to students of all ages, sharing his personal story. He provides safety tips, demonstrates the correct way to wear protective gear and encourages disability awareness.
