San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum’s 3rd Annual Summer Concert Series

Jason Austell was live with Juliette Brezin from the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum and Steve Denyes, The Hullabaloo Band, to talk about San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum’s upcoming Summer Concert Series.

San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is hosting four evenings of family fun as part of the 3rd Annual Summer Concert Series. The events are set to bring the community together in the spirit of summer and raise funds to benefit the Museum’s educational exhibits and programs.

The Summer Concert Series will feature live music, crafts in the Outdoor Maker Studio, face painting, food trucks and vendors, gelato, and beer and wine for adults. This year’s fun and diverse lineup will include folk songs by local rock stars Hullabaloo, reggae songs by LA-based performer Lionel Baptiste, Latin music by Israel Maldonado, and mother-daughter duo Ruth & Emilia.

The event is FREE with Museum Admission ($8 per person / $5 Active-Duty Military, Veterans, and their Families / $1 EBT cardholders, and children 12 months and under are free). The event will be held every other Friday in the Children’s Discovery Garden at San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum, located in Escondido, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m, with concerts starting at 6:00 p.m.

With the Museum’s growth in attendance this year projected at more than 160,000 annual visitors, San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is anticipating nearly 45,000 children and family visitors during the summer.

San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum (SDCDM)’s mission is to inspire children to learn about our world through exploration, imagination, and experimentation. The Museum’s hands-on educational exhibits and programs focus on science, art, and world cultures for children up to age 10. SDCDM designs and fabricates their own exhibits with new exhibits added each month. New exhibits at the facility include Floating Objects, Nature Play, Water Wise Interactive and Living Water Tables, Children’s Discovery Garden, Kids Global Village, Reading Book Nook, Toddler Tide Pool, Base Camp, Our Town: Careers & Community, and Magnification Station. The Museum is open Monday through Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Admission cost is $8 per person, $5 for military, and free for children 12 months and younger. Memberships, group discounts, birthday parties, and summer camps are available. San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum is affiliated with the Association of Children’s Museums, as well as San Diego Museum Council.
