San Diego City Council approves Bankers Hill housing development

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – We constantly hear it, San Diego needs more housing.

It’s why the proponents of a new development urged City Council members to approve it.

They argue the development at 6th and Olive will fight the city’s housing deficit, by offering more than 200 apartments and 18 affordable housing units.

The development reduces the demand for street parking with 350 parking spaces on site and public transits.

This is what the future of San Diego looks like, helping the city meet its density goals, but not everyone agrees.

The project’s fact sheet can be read here.
