San Diego City Council voted 8-1 to repeal short-term rental compromise

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The San Diego City Council voted 8-1 to repeal a short-term rental compromise passed in July.

The Council had come under severe pressure from the home-share industry which collected over 60-thousand signatures to have the voters decide on this twelve year-old issue. There was also pressure from a packed council chamber all supporting the repeal. Sending this to the voters would in effect cause a two-year freeze on trying to get this settled. The short term rental problem goes back to the drawing board.
