San Diego Coastkeeper appoints new executive director

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — San Diego Coastkeeper announced the appointment of Tracie Barham as executive director of the environmental organization, Tuesday.

Barham replaces Megan Baehrens, who left in October for another job.

"Tracie’s career is centered on strategic leadership and organizational development in areas of social and environmental issues,” said Elizabeth Taylor, president of Coastkeeper’s Board of Directors. "We know the organization’s positive impact on San Diego County’s water challenges will expand even further under her leadership.”

Barham was previously the director of development for the San Diego Botanic Garden, and has 18 years experience in nonprofit leadership.

Coastkeeper regularly tests local watersheds for water quality, and advocates for clean water programs.
