San Diego company turns photos into hand-painted artwork

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Husband-wife duo JD and Liza Kameen are the CEOs and co-founders of the local company Paintru which turns phone photos into custom paintings.

It works by uploading your image to the Paintru website, choose your medium (oil, acrylic, watercolor or charcoal), pick your size, and decide whether you want the finished painting delivered as a rolled canvas, stretched or framed.

Paintru matches the order to the right artist, and you get custom art that doesn’t require an art collector’s budget.
