San Diego Continuing Education Foundation receives $200,000 grant

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) –  The San Diego Continuing Education’s Foundation received a $200,000 grant award to support a learning community for homeless adult students.

The Lucky Duck Foundation awarded SDCEF the grant, which will provide San Diego’s most vulnerable populations with case management style counseling, textbooks, food, transportation, healing workshops and paid internships.

Carlos O. Turner Cortez, Ph.D., SDCEF President, and Justin Williams, SDCEF Graduate/Instructional Assistant for the Welding Dept., were in studio to tell us about it.
