San Diego County average gas price drops slightly

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped two-tenths of a cent Monday to $4.06 after rising two-tenths of a cent each of the past two days.

The average price has increased 33 of the past 35 days, rising 71.8 cents, including two-tenths of a cent on Saturday and Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

It is 1.7 cents more than one week ago, 63.4 cents higher than one month ago and 44.8 cents greater than one year ago.

The rising prices are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
