San Diego County Boy Scouts’ Scouting For Food Food Drive

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Every Boy Scout unit along with LDS Church congregations throughout San Diego County will participate in the month-long Community Helping Hands-Scouting for Food Spring Food Drive.

Starting March 1, an estimated 3,000 local Scouts and hundreds of church and community members will go door-to-door in every community in the region asking San Diego County residents for food drive donations.

Food drive organizers are asking locals to set aside nonperishable food donations for the thousands of scouts and volunteers who will be ringing their door bells requesting food for the San Diego Food Bank.

The spring food drive helps replenish the Food Bank’s shelves following the winter months when food and monetary donations drop by nearly 80% after the holidays.
