San Diego fourth-best place to spend Valentine’s Day, study finds
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – San Diego will be the fourth-best place in the U.S. to spend this Valentine’s Day, thanks mainly to pleasant weather, according to rankings released Monday by the website WalletHub.com.
San Diego should have the second-best weather conditions in the country on Saturday, behind Los Angeles, according to WalletHub. The study combines the forecasted temperature and precipitation against what’s normal for the day.
In a ranking of 100 cities, San Diego was 17th for budget — average cost for Valentine’s parties, restaurant meals, bottles of wine, movie tickets and beauty salons; 17th for activities — restaurants and cafes per capita, nightlife options and cultural institutions; and 22nd in accessibility to gifts — jewelry stores, florists, chocolate shops and specialty outlets per capita.
WalletHub ranked San Francisco first, followed by Seattle and Orlando.
Chula Vista was ranked 52nd, coming in 15th for weather forecast, 21st for budget, 70th for activities and 89th for gift accessibility.
The worst cities for Valentine’s Day are Detroit and Laredo, Texas, according to WalletHub.
