San Diego gas prices drop to lowest amount since April

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The average price of a gallon of gasoline in San Diego dropped Friday to its lowest amount since April 26, decreasing 1.4 cents to $3.431.

According to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price has dropped for 21 consecutive days and 47 of the past 50, decreasing a total of 80.5 cents.

The average price is 9.3 cents less than one week ago, 50.8 cents lower than one month ago and 39.1 cents below what it was one year ago.

The dropping prices are the result of sufficient supply, according to Allison Mac, a West Coast petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com, which bills itself as the nation’s leading provider of retail fuel pricing information and data.
