San Diego gets spotlight in New Times Square ad
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – On this New Year’s Eve, the biggest city in the United States will get a taste of San Diego sunshine.
In the middle of millions of people – and freezing temperatures – San Diego will be shown on the big screen.
When the crystal ball drops on Times Square Thursday night, a distant paradise will be teasing everyone on the ground.
That paradise is San Diego.
"The ball drops and San Diego is right there with almost 2 million people in the heart of Times Square," said Joe Terzi of San Diego Tourism Authority.
For the first time in history, the Big Apple meets America’s finest city.
You could call it our Broadway debut.
There’s a lot about San Diego that big city slickers might now know.
It’s more than blue skies and beautiful beaches and beautiful people.
"The night life is good here. The weather is great. I would come here again in a heartbeat," said Shane Noyce of Wisconsin.
It’s also the Craft Beer capitol of the country.
Once you have a taste of San Diego life, it’s hard to go back to your old one.
