SAN DIEGO: High winds expected to hit county

(CNS) – Strong gusty winds were expected to buffet the
mountains and deserts of San Diego County later Tuesday.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for the mountains
and deserts from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Thursday, saying sustained 20 to 30 mile per
hour west winds and gusts of up to 45 mph were likely due to a low pressure
system moving into the region.

The strongest winds will be in this evening and Wednesday evening near
ridge tops and along desert mountain slopes, according to the weather service.

“The winds will make driving difficult, especially for motorists with
high profile vehicles,” an NWS advisory said. “Watch for broken tree limbs
and downed power lines.”
