San Diego home prices up

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The price of a single-family home sold in San Diego County rose six percent last month, an increase over February 2014, to a median price of $500,000. The new data was released by the San Diego Association of Realtors.

Condominiums or townhouses, saw a sale price increase last month to $335,000, a twelve-percent jump from one year ago, and a three-percent increase since January 2015.

“These are good numbers,” said SDAR board President Chris Anderson. “We expect this trend to continue as we head into the spring and summer selling season. If inventory levels rise, we could really see some market growth.”

The report showed 6,000 homes listed for sale in San Diego County. About 1,400 houses changed owners in February, an eleven-percent increase over January, but a thirteen-percent decrease from February 2014.

The most expansive home sold last month was a 6,700-square-foot mansion in La Jolla for nine-million dollars.
