San Diego Humane Society Emergency Response Team deploys to North Carolina

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Hurricane Florence, now a tropical storm, has taken over a dozen lives, left thousands without power, and caused irreversible damage to many homes and communities. Rescue and cleanup efforts have only just begun.

In a collaborative effort with Humane Society of the United States, the SDHS Emergency Response Team will be on the front lines helping animals impacted by Hurricane Florence. The team is FEMA-certified and trained in swift water rescues of large and small animals.

Dave Scott was live at the San Diego Humane Society to speak to some of the team members as they gear up for the trip to the east coast.
