See the San Diego Law Enforcement Emerald and Society Pipe and Drum Band play
This St. Patrick’s Day, the Sheriff’s Department will be out in force to make sure impaired drivers aren’t putting others in danger on San Diego County’s roadways.
On Saturday, March 17th, Sheriff’s Deputies will conduction extra patrols across our jurisdictions looking for people who are driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. There will also be a DUI checkpoint somewhere in the city of Encinitas on Saturday night. If you plan to drink on St. Patrick’s Day, don’t drive or have a designated driver ready to go. You can also call a ride-sharing service or take public transportation. There is no excuse for anyone to be driving while impaired. If you are caught driving drunk, you will go to jail.
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we are honored to have the San Diego Law Enforcement Emerald Society’s Pipe and Drum band join us this morning. It is made up of current and retired members of law enforcement in San Diego County. They can be seen playing at memorial services and other law enforcement functions.
