San Diego lawyer appointed by Gov. Brown to oversee Del Mar Fairgrounds
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A San Diego lawyer was chosen Wednesday by Gov. Jerry Brown to serve on the state panel that oversees the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Richard Valdez, 51, was selected for the 22nd District Agricultural Association, San Diego County Fair Board of Directors.
Valdez is a civil litigation attorney and partner at Sandler, Lasry, Laube, Byer and Valdez LLP. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law.
The Democrat earned his law degree at USD.
The position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation.
