Week 4 Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game of the Week: University City Centurions 69, La Jolla Country Day Torreys 13

University City hosted the La Jolla Country Day Torreys in their game on Friday night with one of the main highlights being UC head coach Ryan Price proposing to his long time girlfriend at halftime.

As for the game, the Torreys opened the scoring on a 88-yard kickoff return by Nicholas Albert giving them the early 7-0 lead.

Casey Granfors and E’lonie Rico helped the Centurions make their come back with back to back touchdowns, and it is 14-7 University City pretty early on.

UC doesn’t look back after that, they take this one with a final of 69-13.

They go on to play Mater Dei on the road next week, while the Torreys will head back down Genesee home to face Maranatha Christian.

Preview: Friday night marks the quarter-way mark of the PPR season as La Jolla Country Day makes the short trip down Genesee Avenue to play the host University City Centurions. The game will start at 6:30 p.m. under the Friday night lights.

The visiting Torreys led by head coach Tyler Hales. They are so far 1-2 this season, but their win was last week so they are looking to continue their winning streak.

Sophomore quarterback Phillip Gooding has had a solid start to the season for LJCD, and with the backing of his teammates, can hopefully continue to get some points on the board.

As for the home team, University City is under head coach Ryan Price and they have a 2-1 record going into Week 4.

Much like their opponents, the Centurions are coming off of a win last week and are hoping to keep the streak going.

A few of their key players to look out for are quarterback Gunnar Grey, along with his targets 6-foot-4 Casey Granfors and 6-foot-2 Tariq Jefferson.
