Alarm Clock Pep Rally Game of the Week: West Hills Wolf Pack 24 , Valhalla Norsemen 7

The Orange Nation was hyped and ready to go Friday night after a long day of celebrations as they faced the West Hills Wolf Pack in their first home game of the 2018 season.

West Hills was fired up and ready to go coming off of a first game victory and they struck first with a field goal to start the second quarter and finished the second quarter with a touchdown to go into the half with the 10-0 lead.

Valhalla looked good on the defensive side of the ball with a few nice tackles and a crucial interception by Ethan Ferkich, and in the 4th quarter they got on the board with a touchdown by Kiare Worthy, making the score 17-7.

But at the end of the 4th Quarter, West Hills QB Jordin Young had a a 45 yard touchdown run to end the game.  The final score in this one 24-7 West Hills.

The Norsemen will head on the road and look for their first victory of the season next week at Mt. Miguel, while the Wolf Pack will look to continue their success in their home opener next week.

Preview: This Friday, the Valhalla Norsemen will have the San Diego Miramar College Alarm Clock Pep Rally to start off a day of celebration and they will finish with a non-league matchup with the West Hills Wolf Pack.

Valhalla is now 0-1 to start their season after a loss last week against the UC Centurions, but are looking to bounce back with a win against West Hills.

The goal of this season for Valhalla is to try and rebuild off of a rough 2017 campaign and new head coach Mike Kastan might be the key to success that these young Norsemen need. A couple strong players have graduated so it is time for some younger talent to rise up to the ranks and fill those holes and help Valhalla start 2018 on a high note.

Over on the visiting side, the West Hills Wolf Pack is 1-0 to start off the season after picking up a win at Southwest (El Centro) on the road last week.

West Hills finished at 6-5 last season and so far are strong out of the gate in their 2018 campaign. They are led by returning head coach Casey Ash and are hoping that they will be a more successful team after the move down to Division III this season.
