Bernie Sanders returning to San Diego for free concert and rally at Qualcomm Stadium
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Senator Bernie Sanders is making his way back to San Diego days before the June 7 primary. Sanders will hold the "A Future to Believe In" concert and rally on June 5, bringing his campaign to the Northeast parking lot at Qualcomm Stadium. Admission is free, open to the public and will be first come first serve. Sanders’ campaign website encourages those hoping to attend to RSVP ahead of time.
Guests include: Nahko and Medicine for the People, Michael Mowgli & The Altruists, Joel Rafael, George Lopez, Shailene Woodley, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, Kendrick Sampson and Dr. Cornel West.
Doors open for the event at 3 p.m.
Attendees are being asked to not bring bags and limit possessions to small, personal items like keys and cell phones. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs, and signs or banners will not be allowed through security.
Sanders was in San Diego less than two weeks ago, holding rallies in National City and Vista as he makes a strong push in a tight race for California. Hillary Clinton spoke at Balboa Park Wednesday, following up a rally with keynote speaker Bill Clinton. Both Democratic presidential candidates have focused their campaigns in California with the primary less than a week away.
