Brush fire in San Marcos chars two cars

SAN MARCOS (KUSI) — The cause of a brush fire in an unincorporated area of San Marcos early Monday is under investigation.

Firefighters arrived to the scene off Esplendido Avenue near Holly Lane in San Marcos to find two vehicles on fire and the surrounding area. The blaze was reported to North County fire officials just after midnight Monday.

The vehicles and a 100-by-100 foot patch of vegetation were charred but the fire did not spread to any nearby homes and no one was injured, Cal Fire Capt. Kendal Bortisser said.
